Now that you know your skin type and the basic order to follow when building your skincare routine, it’s only right that we recommend some result-driven skincare products which you can incorporate into your routine. These skincare recommendations are based on the product claims, ingredient list, research, trials, and reviews. Some of them have been tested by me; some I have recommended to people of different skin types, and have yielded positive results.
Please note that this is a sample routine for basic skin maintenance. A guide, especially for beginners who are just starting out and are clueless on what products to purchase. If you have serious skin conditions such as eczema, moderate to severe acne, please consult with a proffessional. Preferably your dermatologist or esthetician. Feel free to do your own research before trying out these products, and share your Holy Grail skincare products with us in the comments. All products mentioned can be ordered/pre-ordered from EVE Beautique.

Dry Skin
Dry skin types have a compromised moisture barrier and are usually tight, may be flaky. Moisturizers should be your best friend! Skincare products that prevent loss of moisture from the skin surface should be the go-to for dry skin. Gentle exfoliation with AHAs would also shed dry, flaky dead skin cells away and allow hydrating products perform better. Look for products with essential fatty acids and ceramides, as they mimic your skin’s natural moisturizing factors and help to repair moisture barrier. Avoid ingredients like alcohol denat. that could further dry out the skin.

Oily Skin
The slick and shiny one!The goal for oily skin is to reduce/control excess oil production, sebum, decongest the pores, and prevent breakouts. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide. Avoid harsh and excessively drying products like cleansers that make your skin feel squeaky clean, as your skin can get oilier while trying to compensate for dehydration. Rather, opt for oil-free, gel, lightweight hydrating formulas. Humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid will do your skin some good as they’ll help retain moisture.

Combination skin
Hello, skin type! Combination skin type is all of the above; dry/normal here, oily there. The goal is to balance out the skin. The struggle gets real here as you have to find products that are kinda 2-in-1 (i.e. lightly moisturize the dry parts of the face without getting the T-zone any oilier). Don’t fret! with the right products, this is achievable. Liquid and gel formulas should be your go-to.
